Lourdes (Lou) Canlas serves as Executive Vice President for DOT Capital Advisors. An industry veteran, Lou joins DOT following her most recent role as managing director of Courtland Partners, Ltd. in Los Angeles.

Prior to this leadership role, she was a senior investment officer, with the Ohio Police and Fire Pension Fund (for real estate) and the Massachusetts Pension Reserve Investment Management Board (for real estate and timber). In the latter, she oversaw the Fund’s $4.5-billion investments in private equity real estate and global real estate securities and its $1.5-billion timber investments.

Early on, Lou worked with the public accounting firm of Laventhol & Horwath as senior consultant and appraiser and began her career in real estate, leading asset management for the School Employees Retirement System of Ohio. 

She is a member of the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA), where she served as vice chairman of the Plan Sponsor Executive Council and holds memberships in Women in Real Estate (WIRE) and the Association of Asian American Investment Managers (AAAIM). Lou is co-founder of Filipinos in Institutional Real Estate (FIIRE), a non-profit organization aiming to bring together institutional real estate professionals and mentor and educate for the advancement of Filipinos in the field.
